It’s a simple idea, really. During Lent, when I want to get down to the core of my spiritual life, I spend some time “messing” with the foundation of my physical life. I take liquid refreshment down to its most basic form – water – and limit myself to just that. I take my physical nourishment – food – and drop it down to what others receive as their daily allotment. And each day, I am reminded of how God has blessed me so that I can be a blessing to others as well.
The daily allotment of food comes from the refugee camps of Darfur. I received this from www.stopgenocidenow.org.
Based on what we observed on our most recent trip to Chad, Jeremiah and Eric will try to closely match the daily rations of a Darfur refugee.
